Markham is the only range I go to. No nonsense staff who don’t give into griping about their rules. They keep it safe and will not hesitate too kick the idiots out. Really is remarkable how many people just don’t respect basic firearm safety. If I lived out in the country with my own range I would never shoot around others but at least Markham provides a safe shooting environment.
RSO are great and make up for the crappy front desk service. came from out of town to meet up with friends. asked a couple questions and i can tell i was annoying the gentleman. He kept pushing for me to read the brochure-which i had and caused me to ask questions- and he kept ending his sentence with that long "OKAY" to signal he was done answering questions. safety officers were great, humble and keen eye for details. which made this range trip great and made up for the bad customer service in the front of the house.
Great range. Outdoors, plenty of range officers that show they care and will take the time to explain rules, etc. if you're a first timer. The range officers make it an enjoyable experience to shoot here.
We spent five or six hours at Markham yesterday. This park is easily accessible from the three nearby suburbs and is well designed. While there's an entry ($1.50 per person) it is nominal and once inside you have full access to picnic and grill areas, can bring your own grill, have permission for adult beverage consumption, and plenty of free playing space for the kids even on weekends (when the park is at its peak capacity). On weekdays the park is virtually crowd free for loners that want to get back to nature or gather their thoughts. There is an RC-controlled aircraft flying zone (quite amazing to see some of the mini-jets that these amateurs are playing with), the well-known Markham gun range which is one of the nicest outdoor ranges I've seen (if not THE best) charging $13 for the pistol range, a miniature RC race car area, secluded mountain bikers trail area, and playground spaces for the young-ins. Restrooms are clean and disabled-accessible. Like most/many of the area parks, entry is free on non-holidays and weekdays. Florida has done a great job for the public this time !
Very nice park. Went for the 2017 Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival. One day it would be nice to go and just hike through the park, so many gorgeous trees and bodies of water
